苍莽寒空远色愁，呜呜戍角上高楼。
译文：远望苍莽迷蒙的寒空秋色令人发愁，独上高楼即听到驻军呜呜的号角声。
注释：回中：回中道。汉武帝巡幸郡国，为行路方便，辟回中道，为丝绸之路中的一段。苍莽寒空：一作“莽莽云空”。苍莽，广阔无边的样子。戍角：边防驻军的号角声。
吴姬怨思吹双管，燕客悲歌别五侯。
译文：吴地歌姬为寄托怨思而吹响了双管，荆轲临行前辞别燕太子丹大声悲歌。
注释：吴姬：泛指吴地歌姬。怨思：怨恨悲伤。双管：古乐器。燕客悲歌：用荆轲在易水与燕太子丹、高渐离辞别时歌“风萧萧兮易水寒，壮士一去兮不复还”之事。别：一作“动”，一作“上”。五侯：泛指权贵豪门。
千里关山边草暮，一星烽火朔云秋。
译文：千里边塞山河辽阔暮色苍茫，山顶燃起如明星似的烽火更显得秋之萧索。
注释：关山：关隘山岭。一星：指山顶燃起的烽火如明星般耀眼。烽火：古时边防报警的烟火。朔云：北方的云气。朔，泛指北方。
夜来霜重西风起，陇水无声冻不流。
译文：入夜之后寒霜浓重西风吹起，陇水悄无声息地凝冻成了冰导致难以畅流。
注释：夜来：入夜。西风：西面吹来的风。此指秋风。陇水：河流名。源出陇山，因名。在今陕西省陇县至甘肃省平凉一带。冻：一作“噎”。

温庭筠（约812—866）唐代诗人、词人。本名岐，字飞卿，太原祁（今山西祁县东南）人。富有天才，文思敏捷，每入试，押官韵，八叉手而成八韵，所以也有“温八叉”之称。然恃才不羁，又好讥刺权贵，多犯忌讳，取憎于时，故屡举进士不第，长被贬抑，终生不得志。官终国子助教。精通音律。工诗，与李商隐齐名，时称“温李”。其诗辞藻华丽，秾艳精致，内容多写闺情。其词艺术成就在晚唐诸词人之上，为“花间派”首要词人，对词的发展影响较大。在词史上，与韦庄齐名，并称“温韦”。存词七十余首。后人辑有《温飞卿集》及《金奁集》。
