河中万泉人，字道祖，号翠微居士。薛向子。哲宗元祐元年官承事郎、监上清太平宫。历少府监丞，累官秘阁修撰、知梓潼路漕。工书，擅行、正、草诸体，取法晋唐，格度严谨，自成一家。与米芾为书画友，书法并称“米薛”。
