菩萨蛮·举头忽见衡阳雁鉴赏
《尊前集》此词归于李白。从词的内容风格看，接近敦煌民间词，可能是民间曲辞而托名李白的。《草堂诗余》前集卷下作宋末陈达叟词，《历代诗余》卷九作南宋陈以庄词，皆误。
词中“衡阳雁”，犹云南飞雁。雁是候鸟，秋来南飞，传说到衡阳为止，不过湖南衡山的回雁峰。“一行书”，用雁足传书故事。汉苏武出使匈奴，被放到北海冰雪中牧羊。汉昭帝派使者去要回苏武，匈奴诡称苏武已死。使者对单于说：汉天子在上林苑射雁，雁足中带着信，说苏武在某大泽中。单于只得把苏武放回。又雁行排成“一”字，即一行书，这里语带双关，责怪丈夫人不如雁，雁有千声万字，他却一个字也不托飞雁捎来。
此词以思妇的口吻述说：秋雁打从作客北地的丈夫那边飞来，因此见雁思人。但是，雁能传书，他为什么不托大雁捎个信来呢？岂不是太薄情了吗？于是不禁转而怨恨起来，甚至气得哭了，发誓来春雁北归时也不给他带信。这种气愤和责怪，不免毫无根据，错怪对方，但却是情极而生，表明思念之深和悬望之切。要是一旦来书，不知该多么高兴和欣慰。词中痴语，怨语，实际上都是情语。从见雁起兴，到最后赌气罚咒，生动地表现了词中人物的心理和情态，使这首词富于民歌风味。
