南乡子·路入南中译文及注释
译文
路入岭南腹地，水边的蓼花紫红，映着棕桐叶的暗绿。一场微雨之后，家家把红豆采集，树下翻扬纤纤细手，一双双雪白如玉。
注释
南中：犹言南国。王勃《蜀中九日登玄武山旅眺》诗：“人情已厌南中苦，鸿雁那从北地来。”
桄（guāng）榔：南方常绿乔木，棕桐树之一种，亦称“砂糖椰子”，其干高大，多产在中国的南方。暗：一作“里”。蓼（liǎo）：水草之一种。
红豆：红豆树产于岭南，秋日开花，其实成豆荚状，内有如碗豆大的子，色鲜红，古代以此象征相思之物。
纤纤抬素手：即“抬纤纤素手”的倒文。

南乡子·路入南中鉴赏
花间词人中，欧阳炯和李珣都有若干首吟咏南方风物的《南乡子》词，在题材、风格方面都给以描写艳情为主的花间词带来一股清新的气息。
“路入南中，桄榔叶暗蓼花红。”头两句写初入南中所见。桄榔树身很高大，所以作者一眼就能看到。蓼花虽非南国特有，但也以南方水乡泽国为多，所谓“红蓼花寒水国秋”可证。恍榔树叶深绿，故说“暗”。“枕榔叶暗萝花红”，一高一低，一绿一红，一是叶一是花，一岸上一水边，互相映衬，勾画出了南中特有的风光，并写出了它给予作者的第一个鲜明印象。
“两岸人家微雨后，收红豆。”上两句所写的，还是静物，这里进一步可到人物的活动。红豆也为南中所恃有，岭南天热。微雨过后，业己成熟的红豆荚正待采摘。故有“两岸人家微雨后，收红豆”的描写。这两句将南中特有的物产和风习、人物活动揉合在一起，组成一幅典型的南中风情画，透出浓郁的地域色彩和生活气息。
“树底纤纤抬素手。”采摘红豆的，多是妇女，所以远远望去，但见两岸。人家近旁的相思树下，时时隐现着红妆女一的倩丽身影和她们的纤纤皓腕。这是南中风物的写实。但这幅画图却因为有了这一笔，整个地灵动起来了，显现出了一种动人的风的。红豆又称相思子。王维的《相思》说：“红豆生南国，春来发几枝；愿君多采撷，此物最相思。”这流传众口的诗篇无形中赋予了这索手收红豆的日常劳动以一种动人遐想的诗意美。面对这幅鲜丽而富于温馨气息的画图，呼吸着南国雨后的清新空气，词人的身心都有些陶醉了。《南乡子》单调字数不到三十，格调比较轻快。结句的含蕴耐味显得格外重要。欧阳炯的这首就是既形象鲜明如画，又富于余思的。
《栩庄漫记》对欧阳炯的《南乡子》八首作了一个总评曰：“《南乡子》八首，多写炎方风物，不知其以何因缘而注意及此？炯蜀人，岂曾南游耶？然其词写物真切，朴而不俚，一洗绮罗香泽之态，而为写景纪俗之词，与李珣可谓笙罄同音者矣。”的确，在《花间集》中，这样朴质清新的风土人情词作，是别具韵味的。
