译文
我真悔恨嫁做瞿塘商人妇，
他天天把相会的佳期耽误。
早知潮水的涨落这么守信，
还不如嫁一个弄潮的丈夫。
注释
江南曲：古代歌曲名。 乐府《相和歌》曲名。这是一首拟乐府，写得很有民歌色彩。
瞿塘贾：在长江上游一带作买卖的商人。瞿塘：指瞿塘峡，长江三峡之一。贾：商人。
妾：古代女子自称的谦词。
潮有信：潮水涨落有一定的时间，叫“潮信”。
弄潮儿：潮水涨时戏水的人，或指潮水来时，乘船入江的人。
江南曲创作背景
唐代出现了大量以闺怨为题材的诗作，这些是做主要有两大内容：一类是思征夫，另一类是怨商人。李益的这首《江南曲》就属于此类闺怨诗。
江南曲鉴赏
这首诗吸取了乐府民歌的长处，语言明白如话，却又耐人寻味。诗歌以白描的手法叙述了一位商人妇的心声。诗歌前两句以平实见长，后两句则想落天外，出语惊人：“早知潮有信，嫁与弄潮儿”。夫婿无信，而潮水有信，早知如此，应当嫁给弄潮之人。“弄潮儿”至少会随着有信的潮水按时到来，不至于“朝朝误妾期”啊!这是思妇在万般无奈中生发出来的奇想。“早知”二字写出她幽怨的深长，不由得自伤身世，悔不当初。“嫁与弄潮儿”，既是痴语，也是苦语，写出了思妇怨怅之极的心理状态，虽然是想入非非，却是发乎至情。
这首诗运笔自然，但内在的逻辑很严密。思妇由夫婿“朝朝”失信，而想到潮水“朝朝”有信，进而生发出所嫁非人的悔恨，细腻地展示了由盼生怨、由怨生悔的内心矛盾。全诗感情真率，具有浓郁的民歌气息。

李益(约750—约830)， 唐代诗人，字君虞，祖籍凉州姑臧（今甘肃武威市凉州区），后迁河南郑州。大历四年(769)进士，初任郑县尉，久不得升迁，建中四年(783)登书判拔萃科。因仕途失意，后弃官在燕赵一带漫游。以边塞诗作名世，擅长绝句，尤其工于七绝。
