译文
樱桃才红熟，芭蕉又绿了。春天已去，人还未归。昨晚还在生长谷物的水边，今晚已到生长兰草的涯岸。只是天气阴晴不定，风雨萧瑟，让人惆怅顿生。
归家后定要时时焚香弹笙，家中亲人是否在急急盼我归去呢？这样翻来覆去的想着，心中的离愁别恨越酿越浓，只想借一江春水把这满腔愁绪冲淡、流走。渡过那窈娘隄、秋娘渡、泰娘桥就归家。
注释
兰湾：或谓兰溪之湾。兰溪：水名，即今浙江之兰江，江岸多生兰芝，故名。但从结句“秋娘渡、泰娘桥”等地名看，似是吴江上泊舟处。
蓬飘：即飘蓬，谓客子行踪如蓬草之漂泊无定。
谷水：非指河南洛阳或安徽砀山之谷水，与下句兰皋对用，似当解作生长谷物之水边近是。
兰皋：生长兰草的涯岸。
溶溶：云盛貌。
银字笙：乐器名。调：调弄乐器。
心字香：亦为当时名品。其制作过程就是在一个干净密闭的容器中，用白茉莉的花骨朵与沉香木薄片层叠摆放，相互熏染，花骨朵每日一换，直到茉莉花期结束。如此熏制出来的沉香木薄片，就是所谓的“心字香”了。
流光：时光如水流逝。
悰：心情、情绪。
隄：同堤。

上片写旅途艰辛。起句“红了樱桃，绿了芭蕉”，描写春末夏初的特色鲜明的景物，暗示季节变化，流光抛人。“送春归，客尚蓬飘”两句承上转折，感慨春归人未归。“昨宵谷水，今夜兰皋”具体落实“蓬飘”二字，“昨宵”、“今夜”在时间上连续，“谷水”、“兰皋”在地点上变换，时间的连续与地点上的变换，正见出词人漂泊旅途的辗转流离，居无定所。“奈”字领起，“云溶溶、风淡淡、雨潇潇”三组叠字排句，蝉联而下，慨叹阴晴不定，风雨萧瑟的天气，更增添旅途漂泊的困顿艰辛。
下片抒旅途乡思。“银字”二句，是关于往昔的回忆也是关于未来的想像，风中飘蓬般流徙的词人，对焚香调笙的恬适家居生活，有着起乎寻常的强烈心理期待。他知道，这种期待也是家人共有的。“料芳悰，乍整还调。”即以客代主，透过一层，想像家人盼归乍喜的复杂心情。这样翻来覆去的想着，心中的离愁别恨越酿越浓，越来越多了，水上漂泊的词人，准备把这满腹的“春恨”、一股脑儿“都付春潮”，借一江春水把“春恨”冲淡、流走，这是无奈之际触景生情的消解办法。结句连用三个水上地名，回应上片的“客尚蓬飘”，形象地展示词人的不停漂泊和归心似箭。女性化的地名，也透漏了思乡的词人某种特定的心理诉求。
这首词和《一剪梅·舟过吴江》中所写的内容基本相同，“红了樱桃，绿了芭蕉”、“银字笙调、心字香烧”、“秋娘渡、泰娘桥”等，都是《一剪梅·舟过吴江》中的句子意象，拿到这里再次使用，但表现效果似有不同，尤其是“红了樱桃，绿了芭蕉”两句，用为《一剪梅·舟过吴江》的结句，是整首词情的凝聚，给人的印象饱满而鲜明；放在这首《行香子》起句的位置上，感觉并不特别醒目。可见名句一旦和原作的剥离，艺术魅力也会稍打折扣。这就像北宋晏殊《浣溪沙》名句“无可奈何花落去，似曾相识燕归来”的情况一样，“无可奈何”两句，也曾初晏殊再次用为七律《示张寺丞王校勘》的腹联，在原作本中是“音调谐婉，情致缠绵”的千古名句，写入七律初认为“气格纤弱”，并不见佳（张宗橚《词林纪事》）

蒋捷（生卒年不详），字胜欲，号竹山，宋末元初阳羡（今江苏宜兴）人。先世为宜兴巨族，咸淳十年（1274）进士。南宋亡，深怀亡国之痛，隐居不仕，人称“竹山先生”、“樱桃进士”，其气节为时人所重。长于词，与周密、王沂孙、张炎并称“宋末四大家”。其词多抒发故国之思、山河之恸 、风格多样，而以悲凉清俊、萧寥疏爽为主。尤以造语奇巧之作，在宋季词坛上独标一格，有《竹山词》1卷，收入毛晋《宋六十名家词》本、《疆村丛书》本；又《竹山词》2卷，收入涉园景宋元明词续刊本。
