乘船行驶在万里的清江之上，天空辽阔。清江两岸的村落一个接着一个，炊烟袅袅升起。
渔翁喝醉了酒睡着，也没有人唤醒他，直至寒气逼得冻醒了，看见了满船积雪。

醉著鉴赏
韩偓常常有意识地以画景入诗。他曾说，“景状入诗兼入画”（《冬日》）、“入意云山输画匠”（《格卑》）。诗人善于让手中的诗笔变为画笔，在诗中展现画意，让生动的形象打动读者的心灵。
前两句为一幅画，着意表现平远的画面，诗人连用了两个“万里”，来描写清江的开阔绵长和天空的广阔无边，又连用了两个“一村”，来表现平野的广阔和村落的连续不断。诗中点到的景物不多，只有“江”、“天”、“村”、“桑柘”和“烟”，但它们却恰到好处地交织在一起，互相映带，构成一幅清新明朗的画面。又犹如一幅长卷，把万里清江及其两岸的景色都一一再现在读者面前。这当中，也巧妙地嵌入一叶渔舟在江中移动的情景，显得轻松自然，悠然神远。还有“万里”、“一村”的有意重复出现，不仅使诗句读起来流利畅达，在声情上也造成轻轻的跳跃感，宛如小舟在水中轻轻飘扬，顺流而下，与诗情画意十分合拍。
至于后两句中的另一幅画，作者则重点在描写山川寂寥，点出的景物更疏少，只有渔翁、小舟和大雪，这和雪后四望皎然、茫茫一片的景色是完全吻合的。作者用最精炼的语言，用最节省的笔墨，把诗情画意准确而生动地表现出来，可谓为山水传神写照。
更加耐人玩味的是，作者也在为自己的心情写照。这两幅画的前后组合，在短暂的时间联系和强烈的对比中，流露出了诗人的内在情绪。从最末一句“过午”二字看来，这首诗在时间上只写了半天，上午还是清江万里，风光明丽，而中午却降下一天纷纷扬扬的大雪来，风云变幻如此之快，真有些出人意外。这不单单是指自然风云。联系作者生活的晚唐和五代初期的情况看，那正是沧海桑田，朝野混乱之际，形势瞬息万变，这当中包含着作者对政治风云变幻莫测的深沉感叹。关于对这剧烈变化的政治风云作者的态度，作者又巧妙地从渔翁形象中作了暗示。渔翁是旷达的，他喝醉了酒睡着，也没有人唤醒他，安闲自在，无忧无虑。直至寒气逼得冻醒了，他看着满船积雪，对这突如其来的变化，诗中流露的情绪虽然令人惊讶，但主要仍是平静、安详，处之泰然，这是十分超脱的态度。
作者写此诗而以《醉著》为题，也暗中透露了这个消息。当然，其中也多少流露出一些迷惘和孤独感，甚至有“一切皆空”的意味，似乎暗示着作者处境的艰难和心情的悲凉，这在当时复杂的历史条件下，也是自然之理。从两幅画的联系和对比中，可以启人遐思，发人深省。
这首诗纯用白描，语言平易，但却景物鲜明，画意很浓。文字虽然很短，却高度凝炼，寓意深长，真叫人含咀不尽。

韩偓（公元842年～公元923年）。中国唐代诗人。乳名冬郎，字致光，号致尧，晚年又号玉山樵人。陕西万年县（今樊川）人。自幼聪明好学，10岁时，曾即席赋诗送其姨夫李商隐，令满座皆惊，李商隐称赞其诗是“雏凤清于老凤声”。龙纪元年(889年)，韩偓中进士，初在河中镇节度使幕府任职，后入朝历任左拾遗、左谏议大夫、度支副使、翰林学士。
