译文
我本是汉人，却要去匈奴单于的漠北之地。
和相送者道别还没有结束，前面开道的人已经举起旗帜要出发了。
车前的仆人也都伤心得落下了眼泪，驾车的马也为之悲鸣。
我内心十分痛苦，眼泪沾湿了我的衣带。
已经越行越远，匈奴地快到了。
他们在帐篷中宴请了我，并且加给我阏氏的名号。
但是自己不能安于和不同种族的人共居，因此不以阏氏的尊号为荣。
父子都来凌辱自己，对此我感到羞惭惊惧。
自己下不了杀身的决心，所以只能沉默苟求生存。
但偷生也并非我所希望的，常常心里积郁着悲愤。
我想借助鸟的翅膀，乘着它远飞。
但是飞鸟根本就不懂我的心情，它在我面前只是惶恐地长久伫立。
昔日我是宝匣中的美玉，今日却是粪土上的败花。
昔日在汉朝荣华已经过去，情愿像秋草一样枯死。
不禁想对后世人说：远嫁异乡使人感情上难以承受。
注释
适：去往。
单于庭：是单于会见各部首领及祭祀之处。单于，匈奴君主的名号。
抗旌：举起旗帜。
五内：五脏。
朱缨：红色的系冠带子。
穹庐：游牧民族所住的帐篷。
阏氏：匈奴君主的妻子叫阏氏。
父子见陵辱：匈奴的习俗是父亲死后儿子以后母为妻。所以这里说父子都来凌辱自己。
遐征：往远方去。这是昭君幻想自己乘着鸟远飞。
屏营：惶恐。
