廖刚（1070-1143）,字用中，号高峰居士，北宋顺昌谟武人。少时从学理学家杨时，成就了廖刚“道南高弟，绍兴名臣”的美名。廖刚一生亲历两朝荣辱兴衰，历任刑部侍郎、御史中丞、工部尚书。他持身立朝，忧国爱民，对外力主抗敌御侮、对内全力慰抚百姓；他刚正不阿，忠直抗言，令蔡京、秦桧等奸邪沮气。廖刚的精神和品格名重于天下，名扬于千古，为世代所赞颂。
