释宗演（釈宗演，Soyen Shaku，1859～1919），若狭（福井县）人，日本临济宗僧。大正八年病逝，享年六十一。若狭（福井县）人。字洪岳，号楞伽窟、小厮子、不可往子。幼名常次郎。十二岁从越溪守谦出家，改名宗演。曾任圆觉寺派管长、临济宗大学（现花园大学）校长等职，并曾代表出席芝加哥万国宗教者大会。会后，历访欧美诸国，并游化朝鲜、台湾等地。大正八年病逝，享年六十一。著有《西游日记》三卷、《楞伽漫录》十九卷、《欧文说法集》等。嗣法门人有间宫英宗、宝岳慈兴、太田常正等，此外，夏目漱石、铃木大拙等人亦深受其影响。
