（1545—1607）明山东东阿人，字可远，更字无垢。于慎思弟。隆庆二年进士。万历初历修撰、日讲官，以论张居正“夺情”，触其怒。以疾归。居正死后复起。时居正家被抄没，慎行劝任其事者应念居正母及诸子颠沛可伤。累迁礼部尚书。明习典制，诸大礼多所裁定。以请神宗早立太子，去官家居十余年。万历三十五年，廷推阁臣，以太子少保兼东阁大学士，入参机务，以病不能任职。旋卒，谥文定。学问贯穿百家，通晓掌故。与冯琦并为一时文学之冠。有《谷城山馆诗文集》。
