西周时期，周武王灭商不久就去世，他的儿子周成王姬诵继承王位，继位时才13岁，朝中大事全由他的叔父姬旦辅佐处理。周公旦为了西周的政权稳固，夜以继日地工作，打败了自己兄弟与商纣王儿子武庚勾结的叛乱，任劳任怨地辅佐朝政。
