战国后期，卫国人庆卿（荆轲）到处游说六国抗秦，遭到赵国的轻视，就去燕国，结识了乐师高渐离，他们志趣相投，经常在一起喝酒唱歌，唱到高兴时，时而狂笑，时而相对痛哭，好像这世界上只有他俩，旁人都不存在似的。燕太子丹在田光的引见下，劝说荆轲去刺杀秦王，但他们都没有成功。
