东晋扬州刺史殷浩与大将桓温不合，王羲之劝他大敌当前应以国事为重，殷浩不但不听，领兵北伐，屡战屡败，被废为平民，流放到信安，他整天无忧无虑地读书吟诗，老是在纸上写“咄咄怪事”四个字来表示心中的不平。
