西汉时期，邹阳受人诬陷被梁孝王关入死囚牢，他在狱中给梁孝王写信表明忠心。他列举了荆轲、卞和、李斯等事例，说“有白头如新，倾盖如故”，双方不了解，即使交往一辈子，到老了还是像刚认识一样。梁孝王深受感动并释放了他。
